		<description>That&#039;s a nice idea. Unfortunately in this instance S3 was actually returning content, albeit an HTML page saying &quot;Service Unavailable&quot;. Akamai ended up caching that.</description>

		<description>Akamai can easily be setup to serve &quot;stale&quot; content by default. This means that if you can&#039;t reach an origin server Akamai will serve whatever is already in cache. This may be a better option than permanently caching objects and having to purge the full site. Just a suggestion.</description>
