Moving On: Imagini to ShipServ

// June 13th, 2009 // No Comments » // Personal, Work

After nearly 20 months of working for Imagini, the time has come for me to move on. The list of reasons for leaving is as varied as it is long, but I’m pleased with what I achieved there – the recent release of VisualDNA Shops to the original concept, development, and subsequent redevelopments of Youniverse. I originally joined as a senior developer, and became technical lead for science and analytics, developing the company’s latest recommendation engine that recommends and learns based on a user’s VisualDNA.

I’m now joining ShipServ as Senior Technical Architect, and will be spending the next 6 months or so designing and prototyping their next-generation platform. The team there has some fantastic ideas about how to grow the business from both strategic and technical viewpoints, and I look forward to contributing to both areas. We’ll be looking at semantic extraction and searching, machine learning, as well as trendy areas such as location based services. I’m looking forward to it!
